Quarterback Keep: If the defense overcommits to the fullback (especially on an overloaded front), keep the ball with the quarterback and run to the outside.
Pitch: If the quarterback is kept by the defense and the linebacker or cornerback is playing the quarterback, you can pitch it to the running back or option man, who will now have space on the outside.
4. Using Mismatches
As you’re reading the defensive line and linebackers, look for mismatches. If a linebacker is too slow to react, or if the defensive ends are too aggressive, you have an opportunity to exploit these weaknesses with misdirection, counters, or option plays.

Adjust your play based on who’s being overloaded or over-committing to one side. This is where you can use plays like the Quarterback Follow or the Reverse to catch the defense off guard.
5. Study and Adjust
In NCAA College Football 25, defense can adjust quickly, so as you continue to run plays, you should observe how the defense reacts. Over time, you’ll recognize tendencies, such as which linebackers are quick to react or which defensive linemen are vulnerable to a particular type of run.
